LO5: Evaluation of improvements

These tables were tests taken by people trying out my website. From this feedback that I've received I know that I don't need to fix my website as it is fully functional. I have not received any suggested improvements, however I feel like my website could be faster as some parts of the sites are slightly slow in terms of download speed when loading the embedded music and videos. This could be achieved by altering the quality of some media on the page such as video and images. I could also try changing the layout of my website to see which suits the site better in order to get it as fast as possible.  

Another improvement I could make is to import Instagram social media onto the homepage of my website; this would be good to give the homepage more content. To achieve this improvement I could find suitable Instagram widget and import it on to the homepage.

The video link on the navigation bar leads to YouTube videos only, this could be improved by importing other videos such as Instagram videos to this page, this can be done by uploading the video to YouTube to embed them, or purchasing a special widget that can perform this.

 There is also a members sign in option, once the member has signed in it doesn't make much difference to the user, this can be improved by creating a special page for members of the site where they can get the latest news or event information before other site visitors. 

As this website is to promote the music of two growing artists I could improve the website by allowing the visitors to purchase their music or other items, this can be done by having a page to advertise their products and a way to purchase them. The housing style of my website fits with the purpose of the website.

 Since this website is music based it doesn't need bright colours for the audience to understand what the website is about. This is why I have used dull simple colours as it looks more sophisticated, I have kept the housing theme the same all the way through my website to keep the continuity.

LO5: Feedback

My website is fully operational. Myself and others have tested all links and other things on the website which have all successfully worked. The only thing that I would like to change is the speed of the websites loading times as they quite slow. However to do this means I would have to have a lower quality website which is not possible when create my style of website.

LO5: Evidence of editing

Using Mozilla Thimble

I started my project on a coding website. This turned out to not be the best quality it could be as it looked tacky and unprofessional. It was also very hard to arrange the images in a way that would make the clear.

Using Wix.com

To give the navigation bar a sophisticated appearance I customised the design by changing the width, length and height to make it the suitable size as the navigation bar is something that will be on every page. I also changed the colours to match the theme of the rest of the website.



The banner of the website is the logo of the artists. I have linked this banner to the homepage so whenever you are on the website you can instantly navigate back to the homepage by click on the big banner. 





I imported all the Artists music using sound cloud. To do this I had to find the embed code from the original website to use it on my own. I then saved the images to use on my own website to make it easy to see the different songs.











I imported all the photographs that I wanted to put on the website. I then changed the layout from my original idea to this because I preferred the collage theme as it made the website look more modern.







To create the emailing box I used a template and then removed and added the things that were relevant to the Artists. I also added the Artists email address so that the emails are sent straight to it. 

LO4: User Testing

a) navigation 

 All the buttons are fully working which means that website vistors can get around the website with no problems.

b) internal and external hyperlinks

 All internal and extenal hyperlinks are fully functional which means that the website is working correctly and it will direct the website vistors to the correct location.

c) page load times 

The page loading times can be slightly slow in parts. This can only be improved by reducing the big files on the website. However all the files on the website are needed.

d) performance of website when using different browsers 

The performance of this website using different browsers  is very similar as it loads in around the same time.

e) consistency of house style

The colour scheme of this website is grey and white this is because these colours are very neutral and balanced colours these colours also dont distract the attention from the content in the website. The text throughout this website stays consistent. This gives the website a neat look. The house style stays constant right through the website from the navagation bar to the social bars.

LO3: Target Audience

Before I created my website I did a mood board that I thought was to be expected target audience that my website will suit. I think that I have achieved this target audience quite well as I have stuck to the main conventions of this type of website. Before creating my own website I looked at similar genres of websites that could help me when making my own. My target audience was for young people from ages 17 to 30 I think that this age group would like to use the website as it isn't over complicated but it isn't to basic either which gives it a sophisticated look that is seen as quite trendy.

LO3: Content

I have kept the text similar all the way through the website the banner at the top of the website is the logo of the artist this is there because it will be a recognisable logo two people. The font on the navigation bar is quite simple and gives the website a clean appearance. I chose different in mind that if the writing is to intricate it may distort the and make it hard to read, this is not what I want when people are trying to navigate through the website.
